Hollanti ei ole tunnettu suosittuna rantalomakohteena, mutta upeaa rantaviivaa sieltä löytyy kilometritolkulla. Ajoimme kesälomareissulla Hollantiin ja päädyimme kahteen otteeseen hiekkarannoille oleskelemaan. Vinkkaanpa tässä nyt teillekin muutamia u p e i t a rantoja Hollannista.
The Netherlands is not a famous beach holiday destination but it should be (if weather would be less rainy). Because you can find these amazing beaches in Holland. Me and Jonas drove to The Netherlands this summer and we had couple of sunny days so we headed to beach. Here are couple of breathtaking beaches you can find in Holland.
This must be the most known beach in The Netherlands. I've heard that on warm sunny days it is packed and there are people coming even from Germany to spent the day here. Coastline continues miles after miles and you can stroll beach boulevard and do some shopping or have a drink or dinner at one of many restaurants on the beach. The Pier (which is 45 meters long) is full of small bars and restaurants and on top of it you have nice view over Scheveningen beach. I recommend to taste Pulled Pork Sandwich at The Rough Kitchen which is situated in the Pier. If I would move to Holland now I would choose to live in Den Hague. The beach is gorgeous and the city itself is also charming.
Close to Scheveningen there is a Wassenaar beach which we found last summer when driving around in Europe. This beach is quieter than Scheveningen but you can find some shops and restaurants here too. It is possible to rent beach chair (and wind walls to get out of the wind). I think that there is more locals than tourist on this beach whereas Scheveningen is more touristic.

Tämä on varmasti Hollannin tunnetuin ranta. Kuumina aurinkoisina päivinä se on kuulemma tupaten täynnä saksasta asti tulleita auringonpalvojia. Rantaviivaa piisaa kilometritolkulla ja rantabulevardia reunustaa kauppojen, hotellien ja ravintoloiden loppumaton ketju. Scheveningenissä sijaitsee myös 45 metriä pitkä laituri jossa voi ihastella rantaviivaa tai istahtaa viinille ja nauttia huikopalaa hyvässä ravintolassa. Suosittelen maistamaan The Rough Kitchenin Pulled Pork Sandwichiä. Jos nyt muuttaisin Hollantiin, valitsisin kotikaupungikseni todennäköisesti Haagin juuri tämän upean rannan vuoksi. Ja onhan se keskustakin aika viehättävä.

Scheveningenin vieressä / jatkeena sijaitsee Wassenaarin ranta, johon päädyimme sattumalta lomamatkallamme nyt kesällä. Tämä ranta on hiljaisempi kuin Scheveningen, mutta myös täältä löytyy ravintoloita ja kauppoja. Rannalta voi vuokrata rantatuolin (ja tuulensuojan) ja ainakin me viihdyttiin rannalla monta tuntia. Luulen, että tällä rannalla on enemmän paikallisia kun taas turistit suuntaavat Scheveningeniin.

Hollannin pohjoispäässä sijaitsee saarirykelmä (Länsifriisein saaret), jonka isoin saari on Texel. Hollannissa asuessamme kävimme siellä muutaman kerran päiväretkellä ja voin todellakin suositella saarta. Sieltä löytyy hyviä pyöräreittejä ja upeita rantoja. Olisi kiva vielä joskus pyöräillä saaren pohjoispäässä sijaitsevalle Eierlandin majakalle.

When we lived in Utrecht we did day trips to Texel couple of times and I can really recommend this place. You can find nice bike roads and stunning beaches in Texel. I'm still dreaming of biking to Eierland lighthouse that is situated at the north end of the Texel island.
