Ootteko koskaan käynyt valokuvamessuilla?
Mä kävin muutama viikko sitten Tukholmassa pohjolan suurimmilla valokuvamessuilla ja yllätyin positiivisesti. Kamera löytyy jo, joten tuoteuutuudet ei niinkään ollut kiinnostuksen kohteena vaan toivoin ennemminkin löytäväni tietoa valokuvauskursseista ja vinkkejä kuvaukseen.
Kamera kaulassa (kuten kunnon kuvaajan kuuluukin) kiertelin osastoja. Kokonaisuudessaan taisin tutkia pientä hallia nelisen tuntia!
Ihmettelin malleja, joiden päälle kaadettiin jauhoja, jugurttia ja vettä ja jotka tämänkin jälkeen poseerasivat upeita kuvia. Kiertelin valokuvanäyttelyä ja osallistuin muutamille luennoille, jotka nousivatkin messujen kohokohdaksi. Innostuin niin, että päätin oppia lisää kuvauksesta ja tehdä siitä harrastuksen jossa olisin to-del-la hyvä. Jotakuinkin yhtä hyvä kun Joe McNally, jonka luentoa kuuntelin tunnin täysin lumoutuneena. Siinä on semmosta paloa valokuvaukseen, ettei voi kun ihailla.
Tiedättekö kuka on Joe McNally? Tutustuin McNallyyn ja hänen töihinsä ensimmäistä kertaa nyt messuilla. Hän on amerikkalainen valokuvaaja, joka on työskennellyt yli 30 vuoden ajan ympäri maailmaa (kuvannut muun muassa 23 vuotta National Geographyyn). Hänen kuvat on täynnä tunnetta ja väriä plus ne on usein kuvattu odottamattomassa paikassa (mm. World Trade Centerin antennissa). Hänen töihin kannattaa tutustua, on nimittäin upeita otoksia!

Have you ever been to photo fair?The Nordic region’s largest photo fair was held in Stockholm one week ago and I decided to go and see what is it about. I already have camera so new products were not what I was interested in. I rather expected to find information about the photography courses and get new tips on photography.
The camera hanging around my neck (like professional) I was walking around the hall and got really excited about everything. All in all I was there for four hours!
I saw photo shooting where flour, yogurt and water were poured on top of the model and she just kept posing for stunning images. I Walked around the photo exhibition and attended a few brilliant lectures. I was so excited that I decided to learn more about photographing and make it a hobby where I would be really good. As good as Joe McNally (at least), whose lecture I listened and got completely fascinated. He is amazing photographer!
You know who Joe McNally is, right? If not, let me tell you. Mr. McNally is an American photographer who has worked for over 30 years all over the world (23 years for National Geography). His images are full of emotion and color, plus they have often been shot in unexpected places (such as the World Trade Center antenna). Wow! You should definitely look him up, he is definitely a star!
