Hei hei Hollanti

Yesss!!! Muutto on nyt suoritettu kunnialla! Ruotsissa ollaan me ja tavarat.

Täytyy muuten hippasen kehua tuota meiän muuttofirmaa A1 muutot, on meinaa niin mukavasti sujunu molemmat muutot. Sama firma on hoitanyt tavarat Suomesta Hollantiin ja nyt Hollannista Ruotsiin. Hyvän palvelun lisäksi hinta on ollut kohillaan. Kannattanee ottaa yhteyttä mikäli muuttoapua tarvitsee.

Auto täyttymässä kovaa vauhtia / Van getting fuller and fuller

Viime hetket Hollannissa olivatkin sitten aika vaikeita. Lähdön hetken koittaessa en enää ollutkaan varma oliko tämä oikea päätös. (Näin taitaa käydä aina kun olen lähdössä jonnekin). Viimeisen viikonlopun kiersin Amsterdamia ja Utrechtia ja valokuvailin. Muistelin hetkiä, joita Hollannissa koin ja ihmisiä joita tapasin. Yhteen vuoteen mahtuu vaikka mitä ja nyt kun miettii taaksepäin, niin tämä on ollut loistava vuosi!

Viimeinen työpäivä oli yhtä tunteiden myllerrystä. Kyynelten läpi yritin hymyillä ja toivottaa vuodessa jo tutuiksi tulleille työkavereille hyvää jatkoa. Useimpia heistä tulen tuskin koskaan enää näkemään. Siitä sitten suoraan lentokentälle ja täysillä kohti uutta elämää! I'm ready!

Yess!!! Removal is done and we are in Sweden. Me, Jonas and all our stuff.

I want to say couple of positive words of our moving company (A1 muutot) which has been doing a good job when moving us from Finland to Holland and from Holland to Sweden. Besides friendly service the price is competitive. Do not hesitate to contact Aki if moving services are needed.

Again leaving the country wasn't easy! I spent my last weekend in Amsterdam and Utrecht. I took some pictures, I was thinking back the moments I spent in Holland and all the people I met. Meanwhile I was excited and sad.

The last work day was also very emotional. I had to say goodbye to all these people I´ve been working with for almost one year. Also I quit my job which means that from now on I would be unemployed. Hard decisions. Straight from work (with red eyes) I went to airport and flew to my new home country, Sweden.

Terveisiä sekasorrosta

Täällä on alotettu pakkaaminen ja kämppä alkaa olee ihan hyrskynmyrskyn. Meille avautui mahdollisuus muuttaa Tukholmaan ja päätettiin tarttua siihen. Enää olisi viikko aikaa Hollannissa ja sitten suunta kohti Tukholmaa.

Tää muuttaminen ei oo mitää herkkua kyllä. Nyt pitäis miettiä mitä pakkaa laatikoihin ja mitä matkalaukkuun. Minä kun elän sitten muutaman päivän matkalaukkuelämää tyhjässä  asunnossa. Tälle päivälle on tosin luvattu +26 ja aurinkoa, joten saattaa pakkaaminen kyllä siirtyä huomiselle... ;)

Tässä just mietin, että vuosi sitten oltiin samassa tilanteessa Helsingissä. Toivottavasti tästä ei tuu vuosittainen perinne. Muuten, kun suomesta muuttaa Hollantiin päin, niin muutamia asioita kannattaa ottaa muuttaessa huomioon.

- Mahtuuko huonekalut kuljettamaan käytävästä vai tarvitaanko nosturi
- Pitääkö katu sulkea muuton ajaksi? Jos pitää, niin tähän täytyy hakea lupa.
- Sairasvakuutus on pakollinen, hanki se heti kun saavut
- Hanki BSN (burgerservicenummer)
- Avaa pankkitili
- Varaudu ihmismassoihin kaikkialla :)

Hollantilaiset muuttaa / Dutch people moving

English summary:

Hi from chaos! Our apartment starts to be messy as we have started packing. We were offered a chance to move to Stockholm and we decided to take it. Which means that we have only one week in Holland and then it is time to head to Sweden!

Moving from a country to another is not the most easiest thing to do. I´m pondering here what to pack into boxes and what to put in a suitcase. Like last year, I will be living in an empty apartment for a few days that is why I need to pack my suitcase. Although weather forecast says it should be +26 and sunny today so could be that today I´m just thinking what to pack and tomorrow I´ll do it ;)

One year ago we were in a same situation in Helsinki. Moving is such a lot of work so I hope this will not be a yearly tradition for us. Btw if you are planning to move to Holland here are some things you should take account of:

- Is corridor / stairs big enough to move furniture in or should you rent a crane
- Does street need to be closed, if so it needs a permission
- Health insurance is mandatory
- Apply for BSN (burgerservicenummer)
- Open bank account
- Prepare to be surrounded by A LOT of people all the time :)

Kasteel de Haar

Viime yönä heräsin, kun tuuli paukautti ikkunan kiinni. Ulkona pauhasi kova ukkonen. Jytisi ja salamoi melko lailla. Aamu valkeni harmaana ja sateisena. Hollannin säät vaihtelee, kun pörssikurssi. Eilen nimittäin hikoiltiin +27 asteen helteessä ja mepä sitten suunnattin pienelle pyöräretkelle.

Noin puolen tunnin pyörämatkan päässä meidän kodista sijaitsee keskiaikainen de Haarin linna. Se on suurin ja ylellisin linna Hollannissa. Linna on torneineen, portteineen ja riippusiltoineen todella vaikuttava näky. Oikea satujen linna. 

Kierreltiin linnan puistoa, muttei käyty sisällä. Linna sisältä olisi myös mielenkiintoista nähdä. Eilen vaan aurinko vei voiton ja pysyteltiin ulkoilmassa.

Linnan pihamaalla järjestetään säännöllisesti erilaisia messuja ja tapahtumia. Viimeksi kun ajettiin linnan ohi, siellä vietettiin Fantasia messuja. Piha oli täynnä ties minkämoista menninkäistä, joten silloin jäi vierailu tekemättä. Jouluna pihamaalla järjestetään joulumarkkinat, mitkä olisi varmaan kokemisen arvoiset. Tänä vuonna niitä vietetään 23-27. marraskuuta.

Linnan  läheisyydestä löytyy myös pieni kylä Haarzuilens, joka rakennettiin 1890 luvulla. Upeassa historiallisessa kylässä asuu nykypäivänä 224 asukasta. Kylä on pieni, mutta todella tunnelmallinen. Milläköhän hinnalla irtoais asunto täältä?

I know my blog has non-finnish followers, therefore I decided that from now on I will write a short summary in english. I hope this way it is nicer and more interesting to follow my blog :) 

Yesterday we had a perfect summer day in Utrecht (+27 and sun). Me and J decided to take a bike ride to medieval De Haar Castle, which is the biggest and the most luxurious castle of the Netherlands. It really looks like fairytale castle. We didnt go inside but visited the castle park instead.

The castle terrain is regularly used for fairs and markets. Last time we biked pass the castle there was elf fantasy fair ongoin. That time we decided to skip the visit. I would be really interested in experiencing the Christmas fair which will be held on 23-27 of November. I´m sure this would be the place to catch the magic of Christmas.

Next to the castle there is a small village called Haarzuilens which was built around the turn of 19th century. Nowadays there are 224 inhabitants in the village. I wonder how much it would cost to buy a house from here. Or if it is even possible..
